Who is the Praying Pastor

I’m Daniel Patrick, and I pastor at First Baptist Church which is in Lake Dallas, TX.  We’ve been around for over 130 years, and the church has a long legacy of God working as a result of praying people.  Recently God is leading me to guide my church in what is called Worship Based Prayer.  He is also directing me to pray for the area we serve.  And so, that’s the purpose of this blog.  I will also add some observations, but I will focus heavily on prayer.

Alright, I know I’m not the only pastor that prays, or I hope not.  God has led me to pray specifically for the community of the church I pastor.  And so, I will be praying and canvasing various streets posting prayer cards to encourage people to email me with their concerns.  Why?  Money, growth, recognition.  Nope, I just want to see God at work in the area.  I’m also praying that God will do something new for all the churches in the area.  For a list of churches feel free to go to www.lakecitieschamber.com, and google churches in Corinth, Lake Dallas, Hickory Creek, and Shady Shores.  I’d be glad to let them know you’re coming personally.

I believe God works, and no, He doesn’t need our prayers.  But, He commands us to pray, and He wants our prayers.  And so, I am anticipating what God might do.  Elijah was a man who prayed, and as a result, the rain stopped.  God gave him the opportunity to stand up to the false prophets, and in doing so, God was recognized for His power.  I hope and pray God’s power will be seen in this area.  Not because of me, but because of Him.  Besides, I can’t do a thing.  It’s tough enough to get people to come to church, much less anything else.

So, if you are in my area, I’d love to pray for your.  I will do my best to cover everyone in prayer (even those out of my area); but God has told me to target my community.  And so, if you would like to partner with me on this then let me know.  Or, if you’d like to email me then check out my website or shoot me an email.

Praying for you,

Pastor Daniel
